Which are the best Synths(VSTs) for MINIMAL in Ableton?????

Post by LorensLondon » Mon Jul 12, 2010 8:04 pm

Hi all!

Which are the Synths (VSTs/External VSTs) you use for Ableton?

Which are for free?

Which are the best paid ones?

What ones do you use for BASS? FX?

I still use clips I download because I dont know which Synths are the best. I should get Operator? or there is anything worth the value?

Thanks all! I appreciate your support

Operator is very good, very versatile. You should learn to use it, it does great bass, percussion, pads... anything!
It's great for synthetic percussion in minimal techno.

If you are on PC there are many good free synths you can use.

TAL has some nice synths and FX, their Juno-6 emulation is good if you're new to synthesis, it's very simple.

A lot of synthesizers do the same things but in each in a different way, try some out for yourself and see what works best for you.

The best synths are the ones you know how to use.

Sorry for the vague answer but people, especially beginners, seem to equate VSTs with sounds/genres. I'm not saying that's completely wrong but at the end of the day a synth is a synth, and you'll get pretty far if you really know how to use one or two of them.

Also FYI this is Tips & Tricks, wrong forum :)
