Is there a way to stop/cut all audio including FX in ableton
Is there a way to stop/cut all audio including FX in Ableton live? For instance, when I am working on a song and I have a very long feedback or release on an FX channel/instrument and after I stop the song they still linger or repeat for many seconds afterwards. This usually doesn't bother me unless I have to keep looping a region to work on it and the FX start to overlap or jumble (yes, technical term). I remember many many many years ago fruity loops had a function to just STOP any audio output until the next time you hit the space bar and it was great. Anyone know any tricks without having to constantly go in and change my release/feedback knobs each time? Thanks !

Well, no. But you could e.g. assign on/off of those devices that bother you to a single knob of your controller.
MBP OSX 10.6.8, Live 8.4, MFII, Evolver, Monomachine, Octatrack, APC40, Launchpad

that annoys me too. i have one track in particular where i use heavy FX that is drives me crazy on. normally i don't have that much added that it becomes a real problem, but often when starting and stopping during a recording session we have to wait for delays etc clear up so we can do another vocal take.
when it crashes all the funkin audio sure enough stops though

^Yea, turn the track activator off, or slide the track volume down slowly to avoid abruptness.
I thought I remember reading something in the manual about being able to control whether or not anything played after a clip stops. I think that had to with pressing "stop" in the transport control. There is was a way to make it so that there are no tails.

^ I don't think its on the transport control, cuz I usually use that via mouse or I have a foot controller mapped to it and it still rumbles on.
