Hello peeps. Having a bit of a problem. Not sure this is an ableton problem or just a problem with my synths.
Basically I created a patch in Ni Massive with one Saw wave Oscillator, and another similar Oscillator called 'Electric' which sounds like a Saw wave. I haven't detuned them from each other but believe there maybe more than one voice.
I've noticed in my tune as it goes along, the sound of the patch changes as if its phasing over a minute or so cycle. It's really weird. This happens whether I hold down a single note for a minute or if i'm playing single notes over a minute.
I thought maybe it was something to do with massive so created a similar Saw Wave patch in my Korg Polysix plugin. I gave this patch 4 voices and applied a little unison detune. Low and behold exactly the same thing has happened to this patch with phasing occurring over a very long cycle?
I don't know to much about the theories of oscillators and synths but am guessing either this is some weird bug in my DAW or maybe it's just the various Saw waves produced by having different Oscillators or 'Voices' of the waves going out of synch with each other and causing phasing.
Is this normal. How do you get around it? The only way I can see myself getting around this is sampling the tones I want from the synths and looping them up in a sampler to avoid this.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Cheers
