Hi folks,
I have a kick sample loaded in, only a kick sample plain in the arrangement view, now this particulair kick had a too long bass sound at the end, so i wanted to minimize that by turning up the "e" button on the sample and create a simple fade out, simply create a new automation point and drag it all the way down, doing this resulted in my kick sample sounding more dull then when removing the automation button, i did this a couplle times to see if i wasnt crazy but no im not.
How can it be that ableton live changes "something" in the frequency range of the sample when applying a volumetric change.
I noticed beceause the kick had a real nice clicky sound in the start of the sample, which was gone when applying the fade out, however the fadeout did only occur at the very last few milliseconds of the sample.
This being said i must also state that when applying the fade out and creating a new automation point at the end (after the fade out) BEFORE dragging the fade out in place the sound remains as original.
Even when letting it play for a while to see if this had nothing to do with caching perhaps, it does not.
It's (for me at least) unacaptable as a producer when my DAW makes changes the original sound the sample should generate, especialy when i do not intend or expect the issue to happen.
This post is intended as a "help/bug" notice and is by no means in any way or form an attack to ableton or Live, good work you guys do i respect that buiut this makes me doub't working in live again im sorry.
cheers

...I don't get it...you're sayin' live changes the frequency when you automate the volume?
