NI "Komplete Care 2005" package for Komplete 2

Post by ct43 » Wed Dec 08, 2004 1:56 pm

looks interesting

299 euros and you get Battery 2, Absynth 3 & whatever updates that come out next year...

Ive just been wondering.. what products are likely for an update next year, I would have thought it would be a selling point to at least give a list of the definate ones, they must know.

Im thinking maybe

Reaktor
Kontact
Pro 53

maybe they will update them all, who knows.

For that kinda money they'll better throw in the new hardware for final scratch 2. If they do , it would be a really sweet deal.
But 299 for updates?

I suppose it depends on how 'updated' they make the updates + how many of them there are. If they update the whole product line with brand new 'must have' features it would be worth it, but at the moment its like NI are saying 'give us your money anyway but we wont tell you what you are getting'

Sounds like gambling to me - you pay for a years of updates, without knowing if there will be enough updates to make it worth it, or if they're updates you want.

Once, I bought a really good gym membership - five years for like the price of one - it was a big opening deal.

They sold dozens or maybe hundreds of these - their facilities were top notch, and I liked going there.

BUT...

Three months after opening, they packed up and moved out during their "christmas break". They turned out to be fleecing folks here in Canada so they could get the capital to open up elsewhere.

Personally, I will NEVER buy something "sight unseen" again.

but that's just me. I think NI are a stinky company with business practices that treat their customers like criminals, and then they want people to pay 299 Euros for the mystery gift behind door two? Forget it.

sounds a bit crazy - no indication whatever of what you're buying????? - I still dont know if Absynth 3 or Battery 2 have anything worth getting yet, absynth 3 seemed mostly about surround

sounds like marketing have said to them they need something for christmas.....

Anyway I'm really making a point of keeping away from any new toys that will cost money - I'm happy with my setup and I have to get off the eternal upgrade path now..... Reason 3 certainly hasn't added anything I want so wont be getting my cash

yeah I agree really, I mean its not as if we are short of tools to make to music with, I think I could honestly say that if I didnt get anymore software / equipment ever again I dont think I would ever exhaust it all... of course there is the never ending search for better sound quality, but in terms of features, we have more than ever before.

With reason 3, there's more then meets the eye. The browser alone makes it worth it. The props compared to NI, at least they gave us something for free (2,5).

yes but every single device from NI are worth the same price for all of reason

If they would do a vst/au wrapper so we could use the devices in other hosts I might use them, but as is I rarely have a need to load up reason and the new featurelist hasn't impressed me - it's gone in the opposite way to what I wanted

if you ask me they got their marketing back to front - 2.5 should have been 3 and this should be 3.5

the mastering suite is a complete waste of time because I have absolutely no desire to use reason standalone as Live 4 + all my plug-ins are so much in a different league - I want reason to join the party, not go off in the corner on its own!

I will never buy a NI product again precisely because they are full of Sh** when updating. Its all Hype man. Try selling those in a years time for 50 quid. Theres great free software out there that blows away many of the commercial stuff.

Software and Plugins are to fu**ing expensive. The cash we make from record sales now is total crap and I cant afford to buy plugins anymore. Many will say the development costs. What about my development costs and time in the studio. I made 180 quid from my last record WOOPEE EFFING DOO. it was a 3 track record I spent about one month making in total.

Yeah, I'm with you on that. The first release of Intakt was so shit that it did not, in fact, function. The latest release is still unstable as hell and has features that I cannot distingish from bugs. It was theft, nothing less. AND THE MAGAZINES WERE CULPABLE IN THE FRAUD!!!

I do like not knowing whats on the horizon with NI Komplete care program but I dont want to be feel the pain of not buying into either. NI really has everyone who has Komplete buy there balls unfortunately. This maybe NI way of getting there money back for that so call sweet deal we all thought we had in the beginning.

Well,

I did buy the Care Card. Perhaps it was a silly thing to do, perhaps not. I'll let you know at the end of 2005.
Though I am not so anti Native Instruments as a lot of people here seem to be. I thought the Komplete 2 package was an excellent bargain!!! Reaktor 4 alone was worth the price. I have tried the demo of Guitar Rig and love it. I will definitely buy it!!!
I have heard that their support is rubbish. Well, they have always been helpful to me and answered all my questions.

That's my 2 bobs worth.
