Inserting into arrangement view...

Post by sleepymoose » Sat Aug 07, 2010 2:14 pm

Hi there!

This one really feels silly, but I've been looking at this for a while and with no success.

Suppose I have 5 tracks in my arrangement view, and I want to insert new clips in these 5 tracks (of course, they're all aligned vertically).

The problem is if I paste, it'll paste over what's already there. If I duplicate, it'll duplicate over what's already there.

The only way I've found to insert is to select EVERYTHING after the point where you want to insert, and cut/paste farther down the road. This sucks, as sometimes you haven't really selected everything with huge sets (10+ tracks), sometimes you miss selecting the automation envelopes, etc.

I need a true insert method! :)

Thanks!

Select the area there you want to insert TO, then right click on the time line up top and choose "Insert Time".
