Open all VSTs within Live Set?

Post by Trent » Wed Aug 11, 2010 12:58 pm

Is there an easy way to open all your VSTs without having to click them? Its an annoyance that you have to reopen them each and every time you open Live. Any fix around this? Too bad you can't assign a key or midi to the VST plug-in button.

You'd better put your VST's in an instrument rack, with the most important VST-controls mapped to its knobs. That works even faster, I think.

Too bad you can't map to the VST Plug-in button. Or else I would do that! I am thinking an AutoHotKey or AutoIT script that goes though each channel and clicks on the certain color which would be an odd certain color in the VST Plug-in button. I would have to re-organize my set to accommodate it because I have them in instrument racks. Or else program it to go though every instrument rack.

Seems to me you're making it far too difficult. Why open the plugin itself, when you can tweak it's knobs via the Instrument Rack Macros? And what's the use of cluttering your screen with all the vst's? (just curious)

It is purely for automation during live performance. The VSTs I have running are 3 Guitar Rig 4s and DMXIS(for lights). I have midi controlling each guitar rig and DMXIS preset. But if I launch a scene without opening the VST---the presets do not change. It is also the same way with the lights. So each show I have to manually open each VST in order for them to work properly. Its just a small annoyance when everything else in live can pretty much be automated.
