External Sound Card Recommendations???

Post by CraigD » Tue Dec 14, 2004 9:50 am

I'm looking to pick up an external sound card to use with Live 4. I need something with very low latency and at least 2 stereo outs, preferably 3 stereo outs.

I'll be using it to Dj with Live. I want to use a hardware mixer in conjunction with it. I'll run one channel to line 1 and the other to line 2. This way I can time strech, loop, etc... with Live and use external EQ's, Faders, Effects, etc...

Anyone have any recommendations for a sound card (USB or Firewire?)

I tried the M Audio Quattro tonight and for some reason i couldn't get sound out of it. I check all preferences, ins/outs, etc... still didn't work. Is there any problems with this interface?

Is anyone running a set up like this and using Live to DJ?

Thanks!

Try the presonus firebox (www.presonus.com). Lots of conectivity and the best quality/prize. Watch out with the new M-audio products. Ive heard a lot of complains with the drivers lately. Check edirol as well. They may have something interesting for you. If you want the best quality paying a little bit more check rme.

I was going to write a reply ranting and raving about my love for the m-audio firewire cards, but you should really just check out the search feature on the boards and read one of the dozen or so other threads that discuss this.. ;)
