Anyone have a live 7 or 8 license to sell
Hello. I want an apc. But I only have live 6. Don't really want to upgrade cos live 6 suits me down to the ground. But if anyone is selling their license I would happily buy it.
Also does anyone know if the new versions allow yiu to use vsts when running live as a rewire slave?
Thanks

Upgrading doesn't magically make your Live 6 instal disappear.
I don't think you'll get any legit Live 8 licenses offered for less than the price of upgrading?

i know but i dont see the point in having two versions of live, if one is just to use an apc with. i'd like to incorporate it into my production rather than just performance. so using two versions would be pointless. it's not that i think 6 is the best, i've just never used 7 or 8 or felt the need to upgrade. i hear 8 is real buggy so im wary of that and more inclined to go for the 7.Machinesworking wrote:Upgrading doesn't magically make your Live 6 instal disappear.

whoa whoa whoa...

there is not a chance that the apc version of ableton would satisfy me! only 8 audio tracks and only 8 midi! 4 vsts! thats sooo weak. thats obviously just a money spinner from ableton.

right, so upgrade then. Jesus dude? What's the deal? You want to use the APC40? then upgrade. You want to stay on 6? Don't use the APC40, simple.insaneskate wrote:whoa whoa whoa...

damn. who put sand in your vagina? if its that annoying then dont reply, i dont know why you do cos you're not that helpful. i was just expressing my shock at how weak the apc version is, sorry i didnt start suckng abletons ball sack instead.Machinesworking wrote:right, so upgrade then. how have you misunderstood a post, titled: "Anyone have a live 7 or 8 license to sell" as one saying I want to stay with 6? i'm a student - so it's not as simple as blindly throwing x amount of money at a problem. i'm sure there's other people out there who need to pay rent, buy food and drugs. we can't all go upgrading to the new ableton every time there's a new one now can we?
anyway, i shall stop. arguing on the internet is lame and redundant.

You want an APC<--- expensive piece of gear for a poor student who can't afford an upgrade? OK.
You want someone to sell you a copy of 7 or 8. These would go for around $250 or more. The same price as upgrading.
You want to still use 6, OK. BUT, then you want to use the APC with a copy of 8..... bleh!
My guess if you titled this thread wrong, and you wanted an APC version for a used APC you already own, but are now upset that the APC version is a cut down promo version?
Otherwise you can't string sentances together in english very well and my vag is all sandy!

Re: Anyone have a live 7 or 8 license to sell
I have to agree with MW here. Dude, you're not making sense. First you say you want a copy of Live 7 or 8 because you want to use the APC40 but keep Live 6, since Live 6 works for you. But upgrading let's you keep both versions anyways. Except then you said it's pointless to use two different versions. But you can't use Live 6 with the APC40. So from what I can tell, you want to buy the APC40 and Live 7 and have them both sit there and do nothing while you continue to use Live 6.
And to top it all off, you to save money so you're going to buy another full version of Live rather than upgrade?

Re: Anyone have a live 7 or 8 license to sell
i dont understand why you're all confused but ill attempt to clarify...
no, i never mentioned anything about buying an apc with live 7 and letting them sit there. i don't know how you got that impression.
machinesworking: just because i said i cant go throwing money at everything, doesn't mean i cant buy anything at all. there's a huge price difference in buying the apc on its own to buying the apc plus live 8.
my rant about the apc version of ableton being weak was after reading the comparison page which i gave a link to, and being completely unimpressed by it, not after using it myself.
so to paraphrase: i have live 6 but I was asking if anyone had a license to sell for 7 or 8 as I would like to buy an apc, as the apc edition of ableton is not suitable for my needs.
yes im happy with live 6, but i clearly said "But if anyone is selling their license I would happily buy it" so i could use the apc. i also mentioned later i was "more inclined to go for the 7" as i heard 8 was buggy.insaneskate wrote:Hello. Ok. But the thing that doesn't make sense is that you said you didn't want to use two different versions of Live. But that is exactly what you'll have to do if you buy Live 7 to use the APC40. You'll use Live 6 I guess when not using the APC40 and Live 7 when using the APC40 I'm guessing. Quite honestly I don't think that's a very good idea, you'll probably find that you'll get annoyed by switching versions all the time. And I think this is what Machinesworking was saying doesn't make sense. Nothing to do with the APC40 version of Live. We all know that's very limited.insaneskate wrote:i dont understand why you're all confused but ill attempt to clarify...

Sure. But you're very post said this:insaneskate wrote:no.

Soooo....
You don't want to upgrade because Live 6 suites you. But you want to use an APC40 with Live 7. But you don't want to use two different versions. To be even more concise, you don't want to upgrade to Live 7 because you like 6, but you want to use Live 7 and not 6.
Unfortunately you are facing a paradox and one of those things must give. I'm sure you can see our confusion.
