Merging different Midi inputs in the (MIDI FROM) menu

Post by zip » Sun Sep 19, 2010 8:04 pm

In the "MIDI From" selector menu in each MIDI track we have the choice of selecting : one only source OR all the available Midi sources merged together .

It could be so simple and convenient to control-click different Midi sources to be merged instantly .

For instance when playing live with Thesys Sequencer from Sugar Bytes , i need a midi keyboard to transpose the patterns and a nanokontrol to control the steps value and various toggles and knobs .
I have to merge Two sources but i dont want the other sources to be merged because some functions of the sequencer will be modified by other CCs from other MIDI controllers i use for other tasks .

Until now Live offers the possibility to choose one MIDI source OR all the available MIDI sources merged together as MIDI input of a MIDI track.

Many years ago i used a pocket merge device from Anatek (two MIDI ins /one MIDI out) to merge my master midi clock and midi a MIDI keyboard to control an Oberheim Cyclone arpeggiator-sequencer ,i had to use an harware solution .
But now it could be so easy to do this just with a control-click if it was implemented.
