Is it possible to hot cue in a designated loop length...

...on a sample, much akin to the looping function in Traktor? Perhaps, a secret ancient dummy clip technique that allows me to loop a sample that is currently playing at a set length (i.e. 1 bar, 1/2 bar...) without the song proceeding until I stop the looping, preferably at the press of a button. Nothing like Beat Repeat (unless I'm using Beat Repeat wrong).

Do a search for on the fly looping.... there are a number of techniques, some emulate the Traktor functionality more than others but nothing truly does it unless you have max4live...

You're restricted that with the Live setup you only have access to the looping functionality of the clip in focus at that time....

http://thestudiosessions.co.uk and the Isotonik Master Template shows how it can be done in M4L, this may be overkill for your needs i'm just proving it can be done....

Cheers
