Driver error compensation GRRRRR

Heeeeellllppppp!

Driver Error Compensation isn't doing anything!

I've done tests at various PDCs at 44100hz on my Apogee Duet but no matter what I type into the 'Driver Error Compensation' field nothing changes, all audio recorded (in this instance a Sine wav) remains late and requires manual shifting.

Test results:
PDC (samples) - DEC (ms)
64 - 7
128 - 10
256 - 16
512 - 27.5
1024 - 50.8

The Help says that putting, for example, 10ms DEC when running PDC at 128smps, will shift the audio back.
Repeated testing here shows that it does not!

Am I missing something excruciatingly obvious or what?
