Keeping vsts viewable

Post by Gothboy » Tue Sep 28, 2010 12:07 pm

Is there a way to keep a VST/AU plugin window open and viewable on the desktop when I either click on another apps window(like Automap for instance) or the desktop? I've tried everything in the Look/Feel prefs and that doesn't work. I'm trying to make an Automap control map and the amount og clicking nessesary is ridiculous because everytime I click on the Automap window the synth GUI disappears.

So you tried un-checking "Auto-Hide Plug-In Window"?
That's all I had to do but it might be different on a non-Windows system.

Is Automap a standalone piece of software or is a it maybe a pug-in (I'm assuming not but it's worth a shot)?. If it's a plug-in then maybe you also need "Multiple Plug-In Windows" checked.

I tried un-checking the "Auto-hide window" but still the VST gui window goes away when I click on the desktop or on the Automap window.

I'm just using Live Lite as a standalone DAW at this point...VSTs don't work if you use Live Lite rewired to another DAW.

This only works for VSTs (not AUs) -- if you Shift-click the plug-in edit button (wrench icon), it will open as a normal (not floating) window and will then remain visible when you switch applications.
