Add COMPLEX PRO as a default in the default warp mode combo

I like to use Complex Pro on everything I do, but I always have to switch every clip I load in to complex pro manualy because of the lack of this type in the default warp mode combo. I guess it was forgotten by the programmer? I really wish it was there! Takes me a lot of work at the moment! Please put it in!

Abe's claim it's not going to happen, the new Pro warping uses too much CPU and they're afraid people will start having CPU issues without knowing why if this is an option. Alex and I discussed it in the Beta forums when 8 came out, I can't find the thread now though. I'd love to see it myself though.

yeah, read that, too. since live8 came out, computer performance increased, making the point rather mood. and they could pop up a simple warning message box, when one selects it. so people know it could use much cpu.

Surely people should be able to use their CPU as they see fit??

As you say a warning may be a good idea to give newbies a heads up, but removing the option altogether suggests that they think that their paying customers are too stupid to use this feature wisely.

Exactly, it's a preference, no one is asking that it be made the default preference.

Reading replies seems to indicate it won't be an option.
Alternatively, you could let it work at complex for setting up and even working well into your session, then select all the complex files you want changing to pro and do it with one (or two) click(s)...

If it's true that that option is not there because of CPU use problems it's rediculous.
Why not throw away the whole settings panel if you're scared people will tweak?
The power of the program to me is that it ís simple to start with, but so is Photoshop or Soundforge.
But in those programs you can tweak everything at the time you've become a pro and know what you're doing.

I like the idea to select all clips and set them together to 'complex pro' and that's usualy the way I work now,
but unfortunately during multiselect of clips this option isn't always visible.

Live is a great package, but a little more control on this point would be great!

wouldnt it help to just leave everything as it is and add an option to the preferences panel that allows you to change the standard method to what you prefer?
so the factory preset stays the same and people who are aware of the settings and the consequences just change to their preferred option for the new standard

this is because you're selecting stuff other than audio. if you select only audio, you can change the warp en masse.
