Is it the extra 1.6 GB in Live/Contents/App-Resources/DefaultPackages only for installation purpouses (meaning that I can delete it) or should I leave it there?

i removed all the libraries, and then threw out those files. i don't use the library.
but i bet it's just for installations/repairs.

(on windows...)
\Program Files (x86)\Ableton\Live 8.2\Resources\DefaultPackages
...delete all those live packs
...mind you... you won't be able to use 'fix library' unless you re-install
