Anyone using Live for Radio?

Post by Credo » Sun Dec 26, 2004 5:24 pm

Im curious

Is there anyone using Live for radio broadcasting. I remember two years ago there were some commercial from Ableton (or something..) proposing Live for radio. Good idea I think, but have heard very little about it since.

How do you use Live and why Live?
What kind of program?
Is the music prepared as clips? Jingles ...
Any special features in Live that you find usefull for this?

How do you use Live and why Live?
We previosly prepare the 'backbone' of the set, and then improvise over it during the broadcast.
We use Live because it's THE tool for doing these kind of things.
We also chose Live because it's our main playback tool in our gigs, and we're pretty 'confident' with it.
What kind of program?
Are you referring to the radio program?
It's basically a house/deep house program with a weekly 'commercial' chart (there is infact a deck deejay who is in 'charge' of this) and that also features and promotes our original material.
We play strictly and only our own material.
Is the music prepared as clips? Jingles ...
Our music is prepared as sets.
We have the various elements of our tracks (drums elements, bass, lead, etc.) in the session view, via which we trigger, effect and 'tune' them live with a midi controller (bcr2000)
Any special features in Live that you find usefull for this?
As stated above, it's excellent ability to handle samples in real time.

Hope I've helped you out in some way. :)
Cheers.

Thanks for your info
Sounds cool to me.

I'm mostly curious. The thought came to me that it would be doable.

i have done a radio show using live but some of the warped tracks were sounding shit ,the stereo expander make the warping glitches louder.
now i am doing radio jingles & i know the radio is using live 4 linked to a huge keyboard to launch their jingles .
i think the pc is sync'd to the audio out & the jingles come out sync'd automaticaly .

I use Live for television broadcast in the US. It replaces 4 digicarts.
Award shows mostly.
