hate to be the devils advocate ableton, lord knows i love ya, but the list of features for this product are rather impressive. kind of a who's who list of what the folks here tend to whine about. y'all seem to have them beat on user interface though...had a hard time figuring out what i was looking at in the screenshot. no vsti support, but it max/msp based so i'm sure you could hack it in there somehow. something to think about...

might be cool, but damn its ugly as hell, I couldn't tell what I was looking at, I'd be suspicous of what kind of music was coming out of there, not a very organic interface, but then again who knows.

too bad it doesn't have vsti because i could rewire it into live. i guess the midi terrorists can finally have a product.

Hopefully there will be OS X support. Doesn't seem obvious from the screenshot.

vsti support is possible since it's built on max/msp. i guess you can swap out modules and stuff and sort of carve it out and change it to your specs. os x support is coming. they plan on releasing it for os 9 first, then releasing a x version. i suppose it would be tricky to release a x version of this before they have max/msp ready for x.

since it's all rewired and stuff, it looks like it will be a mega cool add-on to live, for doing all the stuff live can't. i don't think i'll be swapping out though. like i've said before...looks are everything.

i'm pretty psyched to try this out although i really hope they hurry with the OSX version. as of January ALL new Macs will no longer have the ability to boot into OS9 and we all know Classic mode is shit. i wonder if that weird period of time will have people hesitating to buy new software or new computers, or both.

yeah.. i'm freeked by the january dedline.. i'll prolly buy the fastest tiBook i can before the switch to no OS9 booting.

also, i think some of the abletons (esp monolake/robert) are on good standing with cycling74... so think its cycling74 trying to get more market share with new products which is good. by the time loopo or whatever its called is released, live 2.0 will hopefully be out and maybe radial will offer complimetry features for the performing electronic muso...

or maybe not.

i have seen a very early version of Radial at the last NAMM show. John, the guy from Cycling74 who made it did a great job in doing the most outstanding ambient live remix i have ever heard. ( well, i may be biased because it was after four days at that music fair in rock`n roll country usa ). Anyway, RADIAL has a different flavor then LIVE and i could even imagine using one or the other or both depending on what i want to do and how...
