Throw away samples
Throw away samples
Hey guys I'm looking for a couple of random vocal samples i can just throw into the middle of my set. For example some guy saying "chea" or a girl saying "oh". Pretty much anything i can throw down to just keep myself busier. While we're on the topic of djing I would also like to ask how people transition from different bpms flawlessly.

Re: Throw away samples
Google is a good resource for the samples your looking for. The Freesound Project also has some great samples, but mind the CC license - you'll need to contact the owners of the samples directly if you want to use them for commercial purposes: http://www.freesound.org/
As to transitioning between BPMs, are you familiar with Warping? Once you have a track warped in Live, you don't have to worry about transitioning - it will automatically be synchronized with the master tempo of the Live Set.
If you're looking for a more traditional DJ style of beatmatching, you can also try out Serato Scratch Live, which integrates with Ableton Live using The Bridge.

- you can gradually alter the bpm of the playing track (preferably the part without any tonal material)jimbo2289 wrote:I would also like to ask how people transition from different bpms flawlessly.
- throw in a pulseless pad or noise
- drench the last beat of the playing song in delays/reverb

Just use a shitty mic (or a nice rhodes) or even yell into your headphones and record that. Seriously.
You can replace them with better quality 'sounds'later if you NEED to!

soundcloud Live 9 & Push / Reaper / Octatrack / Rytm / MicroBrute / Nord Modular G1 & G2 / Waldorf Rack Attack / Juno 60 / Monotron & Duo / SeratoDJ / Komplete 9 / OhmForce
Re: Throw away samples
Thanks for all the help guys! I do know about warping but I guess I just have to get nice on switching the master tempo I have it mapped to my queue knob on my apc right now. I like the idea of delay to lead into another song though, thats a good suggestion.
