Battery 2 - Midi CC automation - does it work in Live ?

That new feature seems promising in general and in principle.
But from my experience it only works in the stand-alone Battery, not with the VST-plugin. The implementation is, NI-typically, a pain-in-the-ass. (like: all assigned controllers only belong to the specific sample-kit - right: you have to assign every single controller one by one for every kit again...)

So has anyone managed to get Battery 'knobbyfied' in Live?
If not, any clue who's to blame and why?
