Session view vs. Arrange view MIDI note detection

Session view vs. Arrange view MIDI note detection

If I play notes with my MPD16 into a clip in the session view some notes will not be recorded even though I could hear them while I was hitting the pads. If I record the MPD16 in the arrange view, I get a totally accurate recording. Can someone address this? :?
