Lock Rack against editing

Post by ukslice » Fri Nov 05, 2010 9:41 am

Is it possible to lock down a rack so that it can't be opened or edited? I was thinking more from a commercial side here.

it already exists to a certain extent; people who don't own Suite can open some rack presets with suite instruments inside them, but they're non-editable, so yes it's possible, but you'll have to ask the abes directly.maybe they're planning on opening up the locking thing to content creators too.

Thanks for the reply Gary, I don't have suite so that's probably where I first noticed the locked ones.

Can anyone from Ableton, that reads this, confirm if it is possible for non staff to do this?

Thanks

Got a reply from Tech Support. Very quick reply and much appreciated.

"Thanks for emailing Ableton.

At the present time, locking devices is not a feature supported by Live. I have heard of artists selling complete Live Sessions, including templates and supported Audio Clips - but these are fully editable and not associated with Ableton.

All the best,
