Hi guys
I have a problem. I want to add some vocals and transpose them lighter into a little-girl-kind-of-voice. An example of what I mean could be the song "See Birds" by Balam Acab http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VNvrOiQZP-0 or "Girls" by Taragana Pyjarama http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VNvrOiQZP-0 . Kanye West does the same in Through the Wire with the song "Through the Fire"
How do for example these two go about their vocalsampling to blend in so well with the songs tempo, with no apparent cost of "quality" in sound?
I've seen Nick's Tutorial about Sampling, but not gotten any cleverer on how you specifically kan manipulate vocal samples.
regards,
S

Ableton warping to keep in time. Then Tone or Texture for the clip algorithm. As far as pitch goes. 3 semi tones.So-Fi wrote:Hi guys

Not sure if it's exactly what you want, but RoVee is a free autotune thing that let's you meddle with formant and pitch. It has male-to-female and female-to-male presets...

+1 on just transposing the vocals. You can also use an envelope to change the transpose amt throughout the clip.
