Apc 40 question

Post by Dross » Thu Nov 18, 2010 7:03 pm

Why does my Apc 40 play back a midi note when i map one of the pads to an effect? For example i have a midi track with a EQ8 and i mapped one of the filter activators to one of my scene launch buttons, it turns it on and off but when i activate it, it plays a piano note threw my speakers. It is super annoying can any one help plz?? :D

Where is the piano coming from?

Almost all of the APC's buttons are "Midi Notes" on various channels 1-10, or something like that. You can look it up and find a map of it on the net.

I am guessing if you have the "piano" on a midi track in Live, you must make sure that the "Midi In" area has the dedicated controller you want to control it. If it is set to "All In" it will respond to the APC40.

Maybe you should also disable track on apc40 input (visible on midi sync tab in the preferences), is generally not realy usefull for APC (except if you need to play note with APC e.g with the Hanz Petrov's script)
