Multiple triggers for Stop All Clips button?

Post by styxcb » Wed Dec 08, 2010 6:28 pm

Is it possible to have a few different MIDI devices trigger the Stop All Clips button? I want different members of my band to have this control.

Thanks,

Steve

No, it isn't. But I would suggest:

1) make up a bunch of super short, non-looping, silent clips (actually make just ONE clip - because you can copy it ad infinitum...)

2) Create a new Scene - this will be your "Stopper Scene" - and put the silent clips across EVERY track in that scene. Assign whatever launch quantization you want to the clips... could be 1 Bar, could be 1 16th if you want to "stop on a dime" etc.

3) Map this Scene to the necessary MIDI key to trigger it.

4) Duplicate the scene for each band member, and assign each copy to a different MIDI note and/or device. Now all of you will have the power to kill the audio.

I use silent "Stoppa" clips all the time, because I can change the launch quantization of the "kill" for each use, rather than being stuck with the global setting for "Stop All Clips".
