I looked at Presonus' site owners' manual online-- is the MIDI+S/PDIF breakout cable included? The manual does not list it as being included.

Not to shabby. Definitely an improvement over the Firebox (which I had and a capacitor blew in it.). Which this model replaces. The pre amps are clearer. I am able to set lower latency times in Live. The little meters on the front for the pres are pretty cool. Looks nicer. I feel bad ass with having some military spec hardware on my desk as well. Over all- enjoyable. Any specific questions?

Edit- o yeah, runs cooler too. Has nice knobs. It's nice to hold. Smells good.

Have you any condenser mics? if so, do you find them working well with the on board phantom? I know they have BS on the presonus sight about 'other manufactures' not delivering full power... but does it actually live up to this claim?

Are you on a mac? if so, what OSX version are you using?

Have you daisy chained an external FW drive with the interface?

What about recording guitars, nice sound?

Is Universal control an actual software mixer?

Is Studio one tempting?

Thats all for now.

OK, lets see here, these are all very good questions and I am glad you asked them young man.

Question 1.- No. Sorry. :(

Question 2. Yes. 10.6.6

" " 3. Yes.

" " 4. Yes, I think so. See my latest jam hit in my sig for further question enhancement. I also recorded finger snaps and silly bongos also for you to evaluate the recording quality of said interface.

" " 5. Yes. I'm pretty sure about this.

" " 6. Have not tried yet.

7. 8)

May I add there have been some very minor glitches I guess you can call them. Sometimes the interface does not sync. So you just have to power it down and replug it in. This only happen a few times. Sometimes silly things happen such as install discs not loading. So I have to disconnect all the firewire things and things usually work. IDK if thats the interface or 10.6.6 or the FW 800 drive or the FW 400 drive which is connected to the interface or what. But all and all very minor problem.

Lol... someone asked if I do air guitar lessons end of last year... all I would have to do is think a bit more like Jack Black and I could expand my portfolio...
