No MOTU Auidio device can be found

Windows 7 recognized my UltraLite MK3, it is listed as a selection in Ableton's Audio Device chooser in Preferences. The CPU load says off and the message at the bottom of the Live window says 'The audio engine is of . . ." Aewbiie here so not understanding all of this.

click the CPU meter on the top right of the screen. That acts as a toggle for the audio engine. Does that turn it on?
