Dear all,
I have big trouble with my LIVE installation.
It worked fine with some loops, but now I have started a bigger project and LIVE is not usable anymore.
The system is sticky and unstable. I tried to save the clips into an emtpy project, but after copying them and calling the "Open Live Set.." it crashes.
Some VSTi's work in one song but kill LIVE in another song.
Is LIVE able to handle bigger projects at all? I am very concerned about corrupt or non recoverable project files.
To me it looks like LIVE is very unstable and not the right choice for a bigger project with live musicians, because everybody gets pissed off pretty soon if the software crashes frequently during a session.
Please proof me wrong, because I like the app much more than SX and do not want to go back again.
Thanx, Thomas
Crash after crash
AMD 3200, 2GB Ram,
Plugs:
UAD(Pultec, Plate 140, Fairchild),
Powercore (Classic Verb, Virus, Tubifex),
Oxford EQ and Dynamics,
MACH5
Greenmachine II
Roomverb M2
Easyverb
PSP84.
Greenmachine was the plugin, which sometimes worked and sometimes did not. I found a workaround:
Remove all VSTs, save the set as a new one and then assign the plugs again. It is ok now, but this cannot be the solution, because it would be annoying to do this in nearly finished project.
The performance problem occured while i was working in arrangement view and copying multiple clips at between session and arrangement view.
I have the impression, that I can work with much less tracks/plugs compared to SX. Somehow everything seems to get slower after a while.
Best, Tom

The crashes only occured when I was opening song, a vsti or copied someting into the clipboard and then opened a song.
To me this does not look like arbitrary crashes caused by RAM.
It has something to do with the song itself, because the plugs worked in another song.
Now that I saved it as another song and reassigned the plugs, it is not crashing anymore, but of course you cannot reassign plugs always.
