Midi Control Question

So I want to control the sample start point with an encoder on my APC40. Easy enough to setup, However, when I turn the knob it moves the start point in rather large increments. I would like it to move very precise (like it does when hitting the up and down arrows on the keyboard) Is there a way to do this?

I know I could just move the start point by pointing and clicking but im trying to get away from using the keyboard and mouse as much as possible! :wink:

oh yes, the same question here. is there any way to increase apc40's encoder precision? to make it rotate more than 270 degress "stop-to-stop"?
