how to route vsti channels to individual live channels?

hi everyone.

my question is this- how do i route vsti channels to individual live channels without having to create a new instrument channel?

to be more precise, if i am using, say, NI battery or sampletank, and want to run the midi on a single channel, but individual sounds out to separate and singular channels, how would i do this?

i gotta believe there's a way...

I think you might have to run each sound on its own channel. Im still learning though so there could be a better way.

i can't seem to figure out a way yet, either... it was so easy to do in cubase, and seems like such a basic routing concept.
