Hi
This post is about live on my intel mac book
I just updated from 8.1.5 to 8.2 and I think part of the problem is that I am kind of new to MACs
When I click the LIVE icon on my desk top it launches 8.1.5 , when I go into applications then into the live folder and click on the live icon it launches 8.2.
How do I get rid of 8.1.5 without loosing any content that I might need?
How do I get the desk top icon to launch 8.2?
My desk top is a W7 PC I am pretty sure that when I update there ( I will do this tonight) the new verion simply overwrites teh old version?
thanks
I have two versions of LIVE 8 on my mac book?

Getting rid of 815 won't lose you any content as its just the application the content is somewhere else, so you can just delete it. Unless I'm missing something here.
You've got 815 or an alias of it on your desktop and the newer one is in your Applications folder. Unless you have some particular need for 815 you'd just trash that and open and use the new. Simples.
New version of Live doesn't replace old one(s), no. Unless of course you told your browser to download it into Applications directly in which case you'd be asked if you want to replace before replacing.

Get rid of the Live 8.15 icon from your Dock.
Grab the 8.15 icon (click and hold), drag it from the Dock into the Finder (desktop) area.
A little cloud of dust will appear sorta lower right of the 8.15 icon
Let go of the 8.15 icon.
Poof.. gone.
Now find the new Live (8.2 or 8.21 - watev ya got)..
HD / Applications.
Drag it into the Dock... and your shortcut is added.
You can keep or delete the 8.15 app (I keep it.. just in case).
The Live library is completely separate from the app.
You can have it anywhere and point to it in Live Preferences
Prob in HD / Library/ Application Support / Ableton
Cheers
