Making a live.button flash via a MIDI note?

Seems like a simple situation:

I've created a live.button object in my patch and I want to use a MIDI note to make it flash and send a bang to my next object. Unfortunately, when I map my MIDI note into Live's MIDI mapper, it toggles the live.button on and off, instead of flashing it. I have a feeling the way to get the button to just flash my lie in the live.button's inspector panel, but I'm not sure where. Any ideas?

I think the problem is that Live's midi note mapping supports toggle mode only.
As a workaround I'm using a dummy toggle button for mapping that bangs the trigger button.

NOTE:
The dummy button must have 'Defer Automation Output' enabled in the inspector.
