how to use an Electribe live?

Post by e440hz » Mon Jan 31, 2011 5:07 am

I have had an esx-1 for about two years and I'm sad to say that it nearly collects dust.

I want to use it live but I'm stuck on how to improvise live with it; any ideas?

Check out "Tonikom." She is one bad ass chick. She uses 2 ESX's with Live. She doesn't connect them with midi.

I sequence my EMX-1 from Ableton, making this the correct forum, and love it. One of the best tools you have for Live improvisation on the Tribe is the Arp Ribbon and the scales. Also the Mod Depth/Speed knobs and effects obviously. By sequencing from Ableton I can also use Ableton's MIDI effects to effect the MIDI sequence to the Electribe or apply Audio Effects to the Audio from the EMX once it re-enters Ableton. Ableton made me love my EMX so much more. No more multiple Drum or synth slots for different rhythms of the same sounds. I'm now diving into Max4Live to expand my capabilities.
