Recommend interface for recording and software instruments

Post by AbletonFinn » Thu Feb 03, 2011 4:14 pm

I am looking for a Ableton suitable audio interface which would enable me to use software instruments (Ableton/Vsti) and record audio with sensible monitoring capabilities = hear ingoing audio signal unprocessed/latencyless = routed before Ableton. (I have a M-Audio 2496 Audiophile which cannot be routed as I need to)
Any recommendations in sensible price limits?

you have to define sensible!

most everyone here will tell you to get an RME interface and it's usually justified even it's a little above your budget.

the Babyface, for instance, seems like it would be up your alley if you just need a couple inputs and outputs. RME's software has incredible zero-latency routing features and excellent drivers for low latency for your DAW.
