Hear a sample before loading it onto session view?
Is there a way when scrolling through instruments and samples to perhaps play a key on my midi or evencomputer keyboard to hear what that sample sounds like? Rather than loading the sample and then seeing, just seems a little time consuming, especially for the stereotypically efficient berlin germany ableton live stars haha

you can preview samples in the browser by activating the little headphone icon and turning up the cue-volume on your master channel. You cant play them that way, just listen to a preview... still better then nothing, huh ?

Ooohh i know about that feature dude what i mean is like piano roll instruments you know, like a acoustic piano to hear what that sample sounds like from high notes to low notes...
i'll take it that there isn't such a feature? I should get hired by ableton......*sneaks resume under door*

There isnt a feature like that in ableton. at least not in the form of a setting or a button to press..
However a couple months back i was on this tutorial site that had created a brilliant instrument rack with multiple simplers for the layering of kicks..
They also had a tutorial (with added instrument rack to download) about an instrument rack with some stuff in it that basically let you scroll through your samples while being able to preview them WITHIN your project.
I've been looking for that site ever since, i hate myself for not downloading it, thinking it wasnt nessecary... i now have ARC on my master bus and would love to have it..
So if anyone knows which site im talking about, or even better, has the said instrument rack, by all means let me (or us, now) know!
