Audio/Midi Playback Dying

Post by sonnylarsen » Sat Jan 22, 2005 3:59 am

OK, so I created a song with 2 audio tracks, and 3 midi tracks. The midi tracks are using the VSTi BS-16 and the audio tracks are simple 16 bit loops. I had no playback issues when I first created the song, I played it back several times adjusting the mix, etc., before saving it and closing the program and it was perfect. Then I came back to it later and when I try to play it back it starts to stutter and then eventually dies. I have no idea what could be causing this.
My Gear:
iBook G4 1.2 Ghz, 1.25 GB RAM
OS X Panther
M-Audio USB OmniStudio
Live 4
Reason Adapted

The only thing I did in between was install Macromedia Flash MX Demo, but I don't see how that could be causing it.

OK...problem solved...

The VSTi BS-16 uses soundfonts. The soundfonts I have been using were stored on my iBook's stock 4200rpm hard drive. I moved them to my much faster external firewire drive and pointed the VSTi there, and tada!!....no more issues!
