Record a clip but don't launch it

Hello Live Community!

What I want to do is record audio into a clip in the session view, and when i decide to stop recording it in I would like to stop it without it immediately starting to loop. At a later point in the piece I would like to play it back, but not right after recording it. I didn't think it would be so hard, but can;t find a way to make it work that way and can;t seem to find others with the same problem.

Any suggestions?

I think you're looking for the stop button, since launching the same clip again would start the loop and launching an empty clip slot would start a new recording.

Yes, I want to be able to start a new recording, but when I am done recording I don't want that recording to automatically start playing. There must be a way to do this without quickly hitting the stop button after I have recorded, right?
