When?

Ok, I might be stirring up a hornets nest here, but when do you guys think electronic music is going to have it's stairway to heaven or bohemian rhapsody? I personally don't think anything is there yet....

hmm,
well I'm guessing its your terms of reference that are out.
what was Punk's Bohemian Rhapsody?
what was Funk's ?

I guess you'd have to go on sales for gauging something like this, as we are talking about "mass popular opinion" here rather than some subjective idea of a track with timeless greatness. Neither Bohemian Rhapsody nor Hairway to Steven were either artist's best tracks, they were just particularly apt at the time and promoted well.

I think it's probably not possible to make a call on this. Different days. Different audiences

In all the years, there is only one dance track that ever had that effect on me, and while it's wholly subjective of course, this, for me, is the stairway to heaven of dance music.

Robert Armani - Circus Bells (Hardfloor Remix)

Its got everything. :D
