DJ Set cannot be opened anymore! WTF?

It seems to be traditional:

Every time I update my Ableton, there is always an issue with opening my project files.

This time there is even an issue with opening Ableton 8.2 itself:

It takes me about 5 - 10 attempts to run live with right click and start as administrator

Because I have an important gig next week, I would like to make sure that everything is perfect.
Therfore I updated Ableton.

And this is what I get when I try to open my DJ Set project file (several hundreds hours of work)

- Ableton freezes
- a black/green screen opens
- an additional task opens ("ActiveMovie window")
- I have to shut down everything with task manager...

I am in the mod to slam my vaio on the floor. Any advice? (And yes, I reinstalled Ableton about 5 times)

Try to install quicktime because quicktime will then take over the file type associations which are in conjunction with DirectShow by now.

Easy explained, DirectShow tried to make the job of quicktime which causes trouble.

I can't believe it, but after installing Quicktime everything runs perfect now.
You rescued my gig! Thank you very much

That's what I expected from Ableton Support, a brief and simple solution which solves the problem immediately.
Unfortunately they have not answered to my email yet...

I think the problem is my 64 Bit running Windows 7. (Ableton has not released a 64 bit version yet)
