Performing Live using NIO 2/4

Post by brianyeeaahh » Wed Feb 23, 2011 7:27 am

I've been using the NIO 2/4 to DJ and perform with ableton live...
when performing, i run a mic into NIO, use some Direct FX, then through ableton then back out through the NIO along with playback, samples, midi controlled synths and such with vox out of outputs 1/2
I'd like to start sending my vox channel out to outputs 1/2 and the rest out to output 3/4, anyone have experience with this, i'm a bit lost.
Much Thanks.

I'd try to avoid using the DFX option that comes with the nio. Run your mic into live on lets say track 1. On the other tracks offset them for the latency caused by the soundcard processing the live vox. I run my nio24 at 24bit/48k with 32ms latency. So in my case any track that is not coming into the soundcard inputs(prerecorded stuff) I add a delay of 32ms.

Make sure all outputs are enabled in the prefs. Then on your Vox track, set the output to 1 or 2, assuming its mono...and then make your master out 3and4.
