ON occasions, just for some simple jamming I'll have a friend over with his outboard gear.
WHat I like to do is set up some simple loops in reason, then Rewire them into Live as the master clock/mixer. From here I can add effects, blah blah. I've noticed some issues that i'm wondering if there is a simple work around.
Oh, this is a Dual 1-Gig Mac running in OSX with 1.5gig of ram. I'm using a MOTU fastlane for the midi interface, and a MOTU 828 for audio.
1) I typically just set up a 4-8 bar loop, then just rock out to that for fun. Inevitable every time the loop resets itself I drop the first note in the reason sequencer/loop player. When I play with Reason solo I don't get this.
2) I want to be able to select one of the Reason items and control it via my external controller. Live seems to not allow this to happen. Again, Reason solo it works fine, but with Live as rewire master I can't get Reason to allow the midi coming in to control anything. In Live i've turned off any Midi in, so i don't think it's grabbing it.
