Controlling VST's
I am trying to figure out how to control VST's inside of ableton with my Oxygen 8 midi controller. I know how to control Ableton very well, but I can't control VST's with my midi controler in Live. In I am using Native Instruments tools like Reaktor, Kontakt and Vokator. Also, Antares Filter. Thanks in advance.
Sincerely,

I second that. I am trying to record the virtual instrument Korg Legacy, as well as the legacy effects. I cannot seem to get LIVE to remember my tweaks, especially in the effects window where you can assign two parameters to a small "circle" that you move around the window's field. I also cannot seem to control this via midi, only with the mouse. So it seems that I have to record these effects individually and save the files to audio. I want LIVE to automate this so that I can have a bunch of these effects and virtual instruments tweaks saved in LIVE. Can this be done? What am I doing wrong? Please help! Thanks in advance!

as the hoffman says if you look at the live vst instrument in the track view above the "black box with the green circle" you will see a little button which looks like a play button, press it and tell me what happens
computer (small), musical instruments (many), cables(multicoloured), monitors (two, loud).
Yeah - Ive tried that - clicked on the spanner icon to open up the Antares Filter GUI. Obviously from within here I can edited by click/drag with the mouse - I want to assign knob 31 to control Filter 1s frequency whilst usi. I tried this procedure last night...
1) Assigned knob 31 of UC33 to midi channel 1.
2) Assigned knob 31 to send data concerning midi control number 10 (I think it was 10 anyway - whatever is listed as being Pan in the Advanced User guide.
3) Opened Midi Set Up in Antares Filter - Set up filter 1 to be controlled by Midi channel 1.
4) In Modulation matrix selected at position 1 in the matrix, Filter 1 frequency to be controlled by Midi Pan.
After all this, Is till couldn't get it to work. Where is the MIDI LEARN feature??? That would be class...
So - where am I going wrong??? Or better still can anyone give me a blow by blow of how I go about setting this up???
Cheers

here is a trick i found this week end
for a vsti without the button expand avalaible
1 create a midi part (exmidi1)
draw an enveloppe...
2 assign this midi part (1) to midi2
by the routing menu
3 load your vsti to the midi 2, play your notes melodies etc...
open the vsti screen right click to midi learn
and voila it moves
