Midi clip help
I'm trying to play a pre-made Midi clip, but when I play the clip it doesn't seem to be sending any signal out, since the levels aren't jumping. Does anyone know why this is happening?

Re: Midi clip help
the midi clip itself won`t make any sound.
did you load an instrument into the track?

Re: Midi clip help
Ya I tried adding different effects like Impulse to it. Levels still aren't moving.
Re: Midi clip help
Try this.
Drag Analog or Operator into a midi track in Session View
Play some notes on your keyboard to see if it makes any sound (you should hear the default bleep bleep bloop sound)
If the track DOES make sound
Place the .mid file into that track
You should be able to see all the midi notes in the clip if you double click on it
If you hear nothing when you press play but you DO hear something when you play notes on the keyboard there's something strange with that .mid file (I can't see how this would happen though)
Don't use Impulse or even Drum Racks to test this out because Impulse only has sounds on 8 notes and chances are that the midi that you're using doesn't use those notes.

Re: Midi clip help
Thanks dentaku, that worked! You're right, it did not work with Impulse or the Drum Rack, but the other stuff seems to work great. I think that was my major problem. Thanks for your help!
Re: Midi clip help
By the way, it's not that it won't work with Impulse or Drum Racks, it's just that there are only 8 pads on an Impulse so the chances that your MIDI file has notes that would play those sounds is less likely than with something like a regular synth.
