editing with envelopes

A question born out my laziness I'm affraid... If I want to edit say 8 or 16 bars out of a warped track, and just cut a part out of a track in session view, can I do this with envelopes or something? Rather than dragging the track into arrangement view, cutting the part out, consolodating it then taking back into session view and re-warping the track?

Yeah, but your best bet would to just edit in the arrangement view.

You're closest option would be to warp out the section. You could also set up two clips and set up some follow actions.
