Can Live use the "looping points" stored in the wav file?

Post by nc2010 » Wed Mar 30, 2011 12:57 pm

Hello,

I have lots of wav files which have "looping markers" stored in the file itself:

When I import them in Live , Live doesn't recognize these looping points !
(Import as a simple clip , or in the Sampler device, it's the same : the looping points are not recognized!)

How can Live automatically use these markers as looping points ?

Thanks a lot !

Ableton cannot interpret SoundForge information. You will have to take note of the position of your markers and enter them into ableton.

It's not "SoundForge information"... It's "markers" (stored in the WAV file) that are understood as "looping markers" by most audio softwares : cool edit/audition, soundforge, etc. even VST samplers recognize these markers.
I think that even my Akai MPC recognizes these WAV markers as looping markers...

Any idea of how to use these markers with Live ?

Sorry about the confusion. The manual doesn't mention anything. I don't think it's supported.

I'm sorry!

Yes but can Simpler? I also use Sound Forge and can tweak the loop points very closely. But it doesn't seem that Simpler can eat them.
Live 9.1 <> occasionally Reason 4.0.1 <> Reaper.latest! <> Windows 7 on a bespoke Intel Q6600 <> ASUS P5E <> 8GB RAM, M-Audio Delta 2496 and that's it.
