New LFO examples not working

Help!

I cannot get the new "LFO and Other Modulators" to work...

There seems to be no communication to max...

Live 8.2.2 (1 year Live user)
Max 5.1.8 (12 year Max/MSP/Jitter user)
OSX 10.6.6

Steps I took (happens every time):
1. Opened Live
2. Clicked "new max for live devices"
3. Clicked "LFOS and new modulators"
4. Click here to load live set
5. Space bar to play
6. Play the clip on track 1

Nothing happens

7. Open "Max Api Ctrl1LFO.amxd" in edit mode

Works like a charm... sound good... LFO is moving

8 Close Max, it stops working, no LFO movement

Same problem with several other devices, including delays and the buffer shuffler...

FYI I have uninstalled, reinstalled, deleted all prefs... twice and have a new harddrive
FYI 2 Buffer Shuffler will work if you bypass the wet/dry mixer and only use the wet sig
FYI 3 after extensive testing, the signal seems to die at the "patcher Range~" in the M4L.SignalToLivePara.maxpat"

Therefore, it must be how live is talking to max
