DJM-800 setup

Post by djmela5 » Wed Apr 06, 2011 1:20 pm

dears,

i usually use my APC40 for ableton , so i wanna try DJM-800 with Ipad to lunch the clips and so , how can i setup djm-800 to ableton ?

like how can i assign the DECK 1 and DECK 2 to DJM800 channel 1 and 2 , since DJM800 is not midi?

any trick?

thanks,

The DJM800 is midi compatible. Ableton can be full synced with the mixer using any custom controls you want.

Check out http://www.mixaddicts.com/pulse/DJM800- ... IDI-R2.zip for a full guide on linking a DJM800 with Ableton.

Google is your friend.

I dont use the djm and ableton but an educated guess would say your best using an eq3 an mapping it to the eqs on the mixer will be easier visually. Suppose usin the eq8 you could have better mixing of traks but it's alot of hassle.

TIP: use the channel faders as autofilters rather than volume it gives you a different mixing sound, something to experiment with.

this vst is also handy if you're looking to map things out on a djm series or similar layout.

an option could be to route the audio out of our audio interface into the mixer...

if your going to mix using a DJM, better simply route the audio with 2 tracks into the mixer dirrectly. More fun I think
