Quantize clip launch - problem

Post by papasonic » Wed Apr 06, 2011 9:32 pm

Hi, I'm building a liveset for a theatre-performance, mostly a clicktrack for a live-musician and a couple of playback audioclips. Both shall be launched following the action of the actors on stage (so the clips can not have the same length every show) I.e. I want to get out of a 16bar-loop when the public is seated and everybody is on stage for the beginning and I don't want to shorten the harmonic structure of the 16bars-loop when jumping to the end-clip, even if the tecnician launches the next scene in the master-track too early or too late. For the moment I'm trying to do this with launch-quantization of the end-clips but it doesn't work properly: apart from the longest choice to make is 8 bars, my group of clips gets in strange behaviour by the count-in clip that is the first in the row and is only 2 bars long. I tried to put an empty 14-bar clip before it but it does not work.

Anybody any idea...? (If you understand what I want to say...;-)

wondering if you could get something out of the ClyphX scripts, might have a solution in there, ans well as some other handy stuff you could probably make use of for the same set.

Check out the beta of version 2 mentioned, it's a lot easier to use, but here's the link to version one as it mentions what it actually is:

@auditory canvas: We tried ClyphX and it really solved some of our problems! Especially the loop-on-off-feature is very helpful (you can't switch the LOOP of a clip off by a hardware-button if the clip is not selected!)

Thank you for the hint!!!
