Using Ableton as main drum triggering module

Post by tfrost1988 » Tue Apr 12, 2011 5:25 am

The title is a little misleading, I know how to trigger drums via Ableton and things of that nature but what I'm trying to figure out is, would it be a practical tool for playing live gigs while triggering multiple controllers simultaneously.

I have a couple different soundcards of varying power so I don't quite know what my latency is going to be like (my main concern actually).

What I'm looking at is triggering a kick, and a snare with ddrum acoustic triggers and applying them to my drum rack sounds. Maybe a few other side triggers for percussion etc. Is this something that ableton can faithfully pull off live?

yup..
i use a drumkat for traps
and a mpd24 for hand percussion
plus a pretty intensive live set including live instruments and vox routed through live..
