Upgrading to Live 8

Post by Allan2356 » Tue Apr 26, 2011 8:20 pm

From Launchpad edition. I've just paid for, and downloaded Live 8.2.2.
I've installed etc. But when launching the new program, I'm confronted with the Launchpad edition with its limiting clip boxes. Have I done something wrong?

you didn't say if you're on Mac or PC. what's in the post is the path for PC. should be similar on Mac after you get past the OS specific folders. you want to blow out the Lite edition stuff... delete or rename (i deleted) and you should be all set.

I've deleted the original live lite launchpad edition completely - as well as the new Live 8 upgrade. I've then re-downloaded Live 8 - after installing etc I am still prompted with the launchpad edition!
This is crazy. I've tried downloading the same file onto a mac - and everything works fine.

Can anybody help, I'm in desperate need!

This is a fucking joke. Ableton takes your money and offers you fuck all in support when the product is not functioning correctly. What a fucking joke. They could have at the very least a moderator employed to help with problems via the forum. What a fucking joke.

i saw your response, but you must have added the P.S. later. i'm not sure where you're at with this now... but to access (find) the files you might have to "show hidden files and folders"

to do this you would open a window to your C:\ drive.
Start > Computer > (double click) "Local Disk (C:)"
Click on the "Tools" menu
Select "Folder Options"
Click on the "View" tab
Scroll down and select "Show hidden file, folders, or drives" by selecting the radio button next to it.

Additionally you could uncheck "Hide protected operating system files" but I don't think you have to in this case.

click "Ok" and go to the path i provided earlier and you should be all set.

if for some reason that doesn't work, the best way for you to get help is to put a good subject line in an email to [email protected]. the forum is very lightly moderated.

Did you delete the files or actually uninstall the program from the Control Panel in Windows?
