Mark Egloff's APC step sequencer set up?
Hi all,
I use an APC20 and I can't seem to get the new APC Step Sequencer by Mark Egloff to work. Followed all instructions to the letter, but the red box never disappears when I launch the M4L device, i.e. the APC20's default functionality is retained even after the patch is launched.
In MIDI preferences, I've got the APC20 selected as a control surface, with midi inputs and outputs set to the APC20, and the track button on. I have all required software as well (M4L and Ableton 8.2.2)
Any advice? I'd really like to get this running...
Thanks in advance!
K

Re: Mark Egloff's APC step sequencer set up?
Hi Marco
Did you select the APC20 from the drop-down menu (01:09 @ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lkjLwv5c_dQ)?
Also, it might sometimes help to toggle the On/Off-button of the patch off and then on again.
Finally, you need to have the track with the APC Step-Seq device selected, otherwise it will turn itself off. The idea behind this behavior is that you can drop several APC Step Sequencers in several tracks and switch between them by just selecting the track (via the APC's track selection button).
Hope this helps getting the patch running on your APC20. Let me know if not.
Cheers,
Mark

Re: Mark Egloff's APC step sequencer set up?
Hi Mark,
Thanks for the quick response. It's up and running now-- thought I had the APC20 selected, as it says that it'll automatically detect the attached controller. Didn't realize that I'd have to open the drop-down and actually click on APC20 myself, as it was already selected in the box when I opened the patch.
In any case, it works fine now. Great work on the patch- I don;t know of any other that offers a way to interface with the APC20
Cheers!

Thanks for the nice feedback karlomarco!
I hope to find some time to post another video explaining some of the advanced features of the patch (like: setting accents, Autocomplete, etc.).
And maybe there will be other APC patches coming up soon.. who knows...
Cheers,
Mark

Yeah definitely great work on that Mark. I actually use this a lot on my 20 when I am out and about and on a lot more instruments than just drum kits.
